Adaptability is key to the growth of any business because this is what is going to keep you around. You might have started off with one thing in mind but needed to change it to stay relevant.
I have written about this in rolling with the curve balls but this is different. This is about making a change that you needed to. This is when you are on the cutting edge and staying there.
We all know many businesses that have gone out of business over the last three years. An increasing amount and it is sad to see people that are forced to give up on what they have worked so hard for. I am not here to judge them I do not know what they went through.
Adaptability How I Have Seen It Work
An example of this would be with sports teams. They have to adapt the style of play based on what they see the other team doing. Most of the time they will get film ahead of the game to prepare. Coaches will have a few ideas going into the game to be ready for when they need to make a change.
It would be nice in business if we could get film ahead of time. I am here to say that practice carries a heavy price but it is our film. What do I mean? When you have never been in a situation you will find out what you need to do or not do. If you learn from it the next time you come across the same situation you will be ready to do better. Overall, having adaptability will allow you to change things that you need to but also to stay out front. We will get “film” the more we go through situations and remember to learn.
