It might be you or you have a team that you are leading. This will help you set your sights and go for the gold. This is how you know what success looks like for you and your business.
All major companies have a vision statement and why not you. It does not have to bring people to tears but it might bring you to them. Something that is out there for a goal that one day you will hit.
Vision for myself
So I have done this and mine is to “spark a dream in people’s lives again.” This defines what it is that I do. From the businesses that I run or how I talk to people when I am shopping.
I know that we all have dreams or had them. When we were kids we wanted big houses or fancy cars. Then we got a job and realized that we could not have both or either. Student loan debt, car payments, house payments, and pet insurance adds up. (I am joking about the pet insurance but it is a thing.) There is a better life out there for us if we are willing to go get it.
There is always effort as John Maxwell says “everything great is uphill.” Striving for greatness is more about what life is about than anything else I know. Because we have so much that we could be great at and we do not even begin to grasp how awesome life could be.
