The Why behind what we do can be one of the most important things to understand before we start a new venture. There could be many reasons or one but they are all important.
I would say that when we start off with a strong why it allows for greater determination along the journey. Simon Sinek did a talk about this on the TED talk. here is the short video and this was the best quality I could find on the short one.

This could be wanting to lose weight, getting a better job, starting something on the side, and going back to school to name a few. If you know why you are doing something and it is compelling, then you have more determination to do that over stay where you are. It is best to remind yourself of your why. Because in the moment it can be hard to remember why you are going to school after work. But when you get in your car to drive home you have a picture of your kids.
My why
For me, this has been vital and has changed a lot. With my marriage, I knew I wanted to marry her but that was harder to remember when we were fighting. Or when I was working 12 hour days to provide for her and my new daughter. Having them as the lock screen of my phone reminding me.
For you to take a few hours before starting a new project to know why. once you know why everything else will be clear. I heard a story about two people going to fall trees. One started right away and the other spent time sharping his ax. The one that started by sharping his ax finished first. Your ax is your why and it should be sharp.
I would love to hear about your why. Drop a comment below or use the Contact Us page (click here)
