Time… when I was looking at the other post I realized that we have not talked about was giving your projects time. This allows them to grow into what you need them to.
Time can be one of those things that we use or abuse. I do not believe in managing time as much as managing what I do with the time I am given. I can use it to grow myself such as reading books or watching videos on Facebook. This goes back to consistency and priorities.
Not that it works this way every time but when building something for the future it is going to take time. The bigger the project the longer it will take. Thinking about this bamboo comes to mind and how it grows. It can take three years to establish and it does not grow much. Once established it can grow 35 inches in one day. Thinking about something you are trying to start. It might be a business, side gig, or a family. These are all going to take time to establish but if given the proper environment you can see great results.
One of the hardest things, for at least myself, is to give something the proper time to establish. Because I can see how it is going to change the environment I want it to happen fast.
What to do to help with how our time is spent
Some things that have helped me remember to let it grow at the pace that the project needs to.
1. Remembering my why. Take a look at this other post to understand more. But this helps me stay focused on the future and what I am working on.
2. Track the little wins. These would be the daily wins and they might be small but it proves that I am moving forward. It might be making a sales call every day. Or networking with local like-minded people. It will be different for everyone.
3. Have a partner. This might be someone you are doing it with or someone that you check in with. It is best to have someone that you are working on something with to pick each other up when one feels discouraged. But it can be helpful to have someone that checks in with you on how things are going that you will be honest with.
